Ali Özkul (b. 1994) is an Istanbul-based filmmaker working across fiction, documentary and video art.
He began making moving-image work as a teenager and holds a BA in Photography and Video from Bahcesehir University.
He is currently working on his first feature, doc film, One of Those Creatures which selected for IDFAcademy and was awarded at Istanbul Film Festival Meeting on the Bridge in 2020 and received the Whickers bursary at Close Up in 2023. He is a member of SEYAP (Film Producers’ Association of Turkey).
Alongside his independent film practice, Ali works as a freelance director, editor, and photographer, creating fashion films and online commercial campaigns with over a decade of experience in visual storytelling and filmmaking.
